A Quick Trip to Charleston...

Finally posting pictures from my last "Dancing Class with a Difference," this time focusing on Roaring Twenties "crazes" like the Fox Trot (well, the modified, freer version), Shimmy, Lindy Hop & the fast-paced, racy Charleston


Avid readers of this blog will already know how much I adore all things 1920s, so dressing in something Art Deco inspired was NOT A PROBLEM. This stunning devore dress from Millers, with its bias-cut skirt & draped cowl neckline was the ideal choice, giving depth & movement as I "kicked up my heels" around the dance floor, while the matching 3/4 sleeved bolero - with black diamante studded edges - provided a degree of warmth in the cooler weather. Patent Mary Janes by Bon Bons were once again chosen for style & comfort - from experience, I know they will stay put despite the most vigorous dance steps - mixed with a small, vintage black beaded evening bag for a bit of daytime "sparkle." The choice of jewellery was simple yet effective - a silver Pandora hinged bangle with a variety of hanging charms & the matching, molded heart ring.


Finishing the look with flair was an oversized black rose headband from Lovisa, half-covering my face for a touch of the mysterious...
