Light It Up (part 1)

As we welcome 2020, I'm still looking back at last year's wonderful festive season, sharing pictures of one of my favourite Christmas traditions - checking out all of the local lights displays, both big & small... sometimes more than once! There's just something about catching a glimpse of twinkling colour as you drive around the neighbourhood that just provokes feelings of joy (even more so if you can get out & really immerse yourself in the experience) & hopefully, these photographs will go a little way to sharing this with you all...

A quick look at lights with two excited munchkins on one of those balmy Queensland evenings that define our festive season & I'm wearing a cute little celestial-printed (how appropriate!) cotton mini smock dress in a gorgeous shade of light blue from Scandinavian designer Ganni...

Another night, another chance to look at more Christmas lights at my cousin & her two rambunctious munchkins! This time, I'm wearing a vibrant pomegranate linen tiered maxi dress (the ideal weight for a hot climate) from Zephyr Loungewear that I found at the divine Fallon Boutique in Paddington, a pair of black leather sandals with silver buckles from Wittner, a black woven straw crossbody bag from H&M that I found in the sale section for under $10 (what a bargain) & a trio of glass beaded Christmas bracelets that have been gifted to me over the years.

Keep scrolling to see more moments from the evening...

Getting into the spirit at our next stop, which won the "People's Choice Award" for 2019 due to its plethora of colour, abundance of blow-up characters (including a gigantic Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer) & touch of humorous whimsy... & if you asked the boys, the fact that is had a bubble machine...

Tucked away in a little cul-de-sac was the final stop, which even had Santa & Mrs Claus' washing line swinging in the gentle evening breeze!
