Seasonal Snippets

With the BIG DAY only one sleep away (!) I thought that I would share a series of joyful "Seasonal Snippets" from the festive season. After such a difficult year & the topsy-turvy nature of plans & celebrations owing to Covid 19, the very idea of Christmas Day seemed so far away but, in actuality, the marching of time meant that it snuck up on us all much quicker than we had anticipated... & I, for one, was determined to fit in as many traditions as possible, safely & with social-distancing forefront in my mind, of course, as 2020 would dictate. Scroll down to check it all out...

All dressed up to attend a "Who's Who in Whoville?" Christmas party in the city, based on the book, How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr Seuss, of course. I'm wearing a gorgeous red satin-backed-crepe dress with bow shoulder detailing from celebrated Aussie designer Anthea Crawford, a pair of vintage-inspired black vegan leather round-toed heels with t-bar & teeny tiny bows from Kitten D'Amour, a boxy black vinyl & suede handbag with silver handles from French Connection, funky handmade "haberdashery" Christmas bib necklace that a dear friend found on Portobello Road & gifted me last year, a trio of gifted glass Christmas beaded bracelets & finally, a stunning oversized green felt bow headpiece from the talented Brenda Lee of Boutique by Brenda Lee, found via Etsy.

One for the ages... certainly sums of 2020...

Fitting in some last minute Christmas shopping at the new Ripley Town Centre's Satoyama Way wearing a gorgeous red & white spotted polyblend elasticated top & ruffled midi skirt with tie belt from Neon Cherry, a pair of chunky white leather wedges from Stegmann via Styletread & a circular white woven straw handbag from French Connection.

Exchanging gifts with friends, even if they do live more than fourteen hours away (by car)...
Seriously can't wait to let out my "artistic" side (hopefully I have one!) with the paint-by-numbers in 2021.

More beautiful & thoughtful gifts from absent friends... & one incredibly well-dressed woman standing beside - I wonder who her stylist is?!

Spending a few nights watching some of our favourite Christmas movies - The Nutracker & the Four Realms & Elf are right up there with some of the best...

Heading out to a birthday dinner for my younger brother & cousin at the delightful & delicious Marinara Italian Restaurant in Hawthorne. For the occasion, I'm wearing a gorgeous vintage inspired floral lurex fit-to-flare dress with matching cropped bolero from Retrospec'd, a pair of beige leather lace-up heels from Jo Mercer, a woven handbag/crossbody bag from Etsy, some gifted vintage hinged bangles in the form of two zebras & an elephant respectively & finally, a stack of faceted bead bracelets from Jewelled Bazaar for extra flair.

Aperol Spritz really hits the spot!

Garlic Pizza Entree

Tuscan Baked Salmon... absolutely MELT IN YOUR MOUTH...

A few more outfit pictures, this time without the bolero...

Littlest Angel at the Sunday School Nativity

A quick trip around the neighbourhood in the car to look at the Christmas Lights, particularly the Nativity at the local Church from the previous pictures before a leisurely, long chat while sitting on the backyard swing underneath our own string of coloured lights wearing a gorgeous, vintage blue floral cotton smock dress from Dear Abigael that is just perfect for the balmy Queensland summer weather...

Christmas Eve Eve in a retro-inspired green & cream printed cotton shift dress from the recent collaboration between Uniqlo & celebrated Finnish design house Marimekko, a pair of tan leather & rope espadrille wedges with gold buckles from Jo Mercer & a cutesy embellished velvet Christmas Tree headpiece from my local Myer store to really "get into the spirit."
