You know those dresses that are so amazing that they not only transcend seasons but years? Moreover, they make you feel so inordinately happy each & every time you wear them? This gorgeous little polka dotted chiffon number from celebrated Australian designer Zimmermann is just such a dress... I'm not sure if it's the cutesy print, the funky colour palette of brown, blue, pink, yellow & grey, the tiered hemline or voluminous sleeves but it is the gift that keeps on giving & gets compliments wherever I go! I've styled it up for an event in my beloved River City with a black elastane slip from Taking Shape for modesty purposes, a pair of black matte leather ankle boots from Wittner for some added height, a boxy black vinyl handbag from French Connection to carry all the essentials & ensure that I don't take anything away from the dress sleeves with a strap of any kind, a pink nylon scarf from That Shop that I tied around one of the bag handles for that extra pop of bright colour & finally, a vintage wooden painted bead necklace that a dear friend's mother was given by a friend who made it at Woodstock in 1969... yep, Woodstock... For a folk/hippie/psychedelic music lover such as myself, it's certainly a treasure & the ideal finishing touch.
