Spent a wonderful Saturday morning shopping for Fathers Day gifts at Indooroopilly Shoppingtown before retiring for some delicious Yum Cha washed down with a pot of strong Chinese tea...

Smart casual was the name of the game for this weekend outing, beginning with an amazing burgundy floral jacquard Anthea Crawford dress featuring a sculpted portrait neckline, pleated waist & 1950s style flared hem. Check it out in all its glory:

Rather than wear a quintessentially 1950s layering piece with the dress - such as a fuzzy, cardigan or cropped satin bolero - I decided to mix the eras I love & wear a late 1960s style black silk, three-quarter-sleeved Portmans kimono with intricate embroidery & fringing. What I love the most is the way that the collarless garment sits perfectly underneath the aforementioned portrait neckline, as evidenced below:

Unpredictable weather meant that my bare legs were finally on show, my feet encased in a pair of 1970s style black suede & rattan peeptoe wedges with thin leather ankle straps from Novo. Instead of the expected black patent handbag, a smooth green Vera May option was chosen for a "pop" of bright colour against the sumptuous black & burgundy.

Statement jewellery pieces were then added for bohemian flair - a chunky gold & bronze cuff with burgundy & green semi-precious stones & a matching large square cocktail ring from a Market Stall at the recent EKKA. Scroll down for a more detailed look:
