For a lunch date at our favourite restaurant, Oishii Sushi Bar, on an unseasonably warm Winter's Saturday in Queensland, this black & silver ensemble was ideal... a gorgeous floral embroidered cotton empire-line midi dress with folded waist detail & asymmetrical neckline from Portmans, augmented with a thick pleated silk strap that I added to negate the need for a strapless bra; black mesh three-quarter-sleeved cardigan from Leaf Clothing with extra long "waterfall" front that can be tied into an oversized bow; silver leather brogues with bone laces from Country Road & a matching laser-cut leather tote bag from Sashenka, purchased for a STEAL at my local Trade Secret store.

Jewellery followed the same theme: a brushed silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop on one arm & a chunky, vintage wooden bangle with beaded embellishment (brought back from India by a dear friend) & a delicate marcasite ring with mother-of-pearl centre that another friend gave me as a 30th birthday present.

For a lunch date at the historical Cafe Valetta in Toowoomba, accompanied by my Father's Father (whom I call Poppy) & unfortunately without my "World Traveler" younger brother Louis, it was time to bust out another black & silver ensemble - this time a little dressier & certainly more eclectic than the first!

The start of this outfit was an amazing black satin midi dress with silver "leaf" 3D embellishment from Jayson Brunsdon Black Label, exclusive to Myer - a thoughtful gift & similar to the navy version I recently wore to farewell a friend, mixed with a black mesh Leaf Clothing cardigan, monochrome faux snakeskin boots with elastic sides from Witchery, 40 denier nylon Razzamatazz tights & speckled monochrome shoulder bag with silver hardware from Nine West. When it came to jewellery, less was definitely more: a brushed silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop & semi-precious stone wrap bracelet with "F" initial pendant from the Chapel Hill Fete the day before.
