Lately...

Scroll down to see what's been happening around here lately...

Posing in the mirror of the antique wardrobe in a midi-length dress with black jersey top & chevron striped satin skirt from City Chic, speckled monochrome lace-up heels from Novo, white vinyl "bowling" style bag with black hardware from Colette by Colette Hayman, silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop & black faceted bead bracelets with silver charms from Thomas Sabo.

Remnants of Australia Day... a Maxwell & Williams ceramic cup covered in pictures of native Christmas Bells, Australian Bushland tea bags from Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (ideal for boiling a billy if you have one!) & one of my all-time favourite Phryne Fisher 1920s-set murder mystery books from author Kerry Greenwood - "Death Before Wicket" - as there's really nothing more Aussie than a game of cricket... particularly if you're playing The Bushwackers on a record in the background like I was...

Decked out in shades of blue & rose gold to visit a dear friend & her little fella. I'm wearing a paisley printed stretch jersey dress from Spicy Sugar (purchased years ago & altered from a one-shoulder maxi dress design), embellished sandals from Forever New, shiny cross-body bag from Colette by Colette Hayman & chunky neoprene Chisel watch from Prouds for a sport luxe vibe...

*

Beautiful brooches to remember a very special lady.

Vale, Heather.

Ready to head to the local water park with my cousin & her two little boys in an effort to combat the stifling heat wearing this Summery ensemble - a vividly printed cotton dress from Marco Polo (purchased many many years ago from Trade Secret for under $10), black & white marbled "starfish" thongs from Aussie Sole, woven black cross-body bag with extreme fringing from Sportsgirl & a chunky yellow resin ring that I picked up at a little store on the Gallery Walk at Mt Tamborine.

Scroll down to see how the rest of the super-hot, super-humid day unfolded...

There's always time for a selfie!

Dancing class, here I come!
This awesome dress is from a British company & is cotton with a flocked "vintage tattoo" pattern & stylised corset belt. I've mixed it with a pair of strappy black leather sandals from Wittner, black plastic handbag from Sunjellies (the insert is a Nine West calico "storage bag" that I turned inside out), black lace fingerless gloves - I know, I know, how very "Great Expectations" of me - from Alannah Hill & a chunky red resin ring with silver detailing from Equip.

*

Lounging in the heat...

*

Obligatory changeroom selfie in this floral printed twill fit-to-flare dress from Anthea Crawford with grosgrain bow ribbon belt, black strappy heels from Wittner, shiny orange patent handbag from Vera May (purchased from my local Simona Ricci store) & bohemian bronze cuff with rainbow pompom details from The Robe boutique at The Barracks, a Christmas gift from my dear friend Belinda.

*

Sitting pretty in a monochrome ensemble - a stunning fit-to-flare dress from Anthea Crawford comprising of a stretchy black jersey bodice with 3D stretch lace & embroidery skirt, stretch jersey belt with silver ring tie (how very 1980s) from Taking Shape, black strappy heels from Wittner, speckled light monochrome shoulder bag with silver chain straps from Nine West & silver agate cuff from Witchery. You can probably tell from this picture that I am LOVING the arrival of Autumn... bring on the cold weather!

*

My second pair of Carpe d'Arts. These stunning shoes are handpainted by the artist, making each one a unique piece of art in themselves.

*

About to devour a delicious dinner at Peak Thai restaurant with family & friends. I'm wearing a gorgeous black midi dress with 3D sequin flower embellishments from Jayson Brunsdon Black Label at Myer, shiny silver heels with t-bar detailing from Wittner, silver cross-body bag with utilitarian strap by Noosa Living (purchased from The Works store at Mt Ommaney) & matching silver & onyx charm bangle & ring from Pandora, given to me as a birthday present from a dear friend a few years ago.

Making short work of the delicious fare...
Highly recommended if you are in the Springfield Lakes area!

Blackout Essentials. Thanks so much, Mother Nature.
Queensland thunderstorms are no fun.

*

Dance Class ready in a colourful floral & striped cotton fit-to-flare dress with modified sweetheart neckline & grosgrain ribbon belt from Anthea Crawford, black leather pointy-toed flats from Novo, embellished cross-body bag from bohemian mecca, Tree of Life & heavy silver Ganesh cuff from the (sadly) now defunct Trinkit Hunter.

*

Sun Salutations on the wooden deck (with a furry interloper, of course!) in a vintage lace, angel-sleeved dress from Etsy.

*

Obligatory changeroom selfie in a printed jacquard dress with bow shoulder detail from Anthea Crawford, black strappy leather heels from Wittner (clearly got my cost-per-wear on those babies!) & pattern-mixed, woven tribal clutch with hard resin clasp from Nine West. I love adding bohemian touches to otherwise resolutely "dressy "ensembles for a bit of visual interest. Finishing the look with a silver & semi-precious stone cuff from a little pop-up store at Burleigh Heads & a brushed silver cuff from Wallace Bishop.

*

Hilarious T-Rex plush backpack for a certain tiny dinosaur aficionado, generously gifted by a dear friend who lives in the UK & found it in the gift shop of London's Natural History Museum. ROAR!

*

Salad for dinner & a spot of Late Night Shopping at the newly refurbished Indooroopilly Shoppingtown in a firework floral printed twill fit-to-flare dress with princess seams from Anthea Crawford, pattern-mixed sari-material jacket from Tree of Life, black strappy leather heels from Wittner & woven tribal clutch with hard resin clasp in shades of pink, yellow & orange from Nine West. To complete the eclectic look, I added a shiny silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop & a chunky bangle featuring the work of Amedeo Modigliani, purchased from the gift shop of the Musee de la Orangerie in Paris a few years ago. The print is a mirror image of part of his stunning painting entitled "Nude on a White Cushion" from 1917, pictured in full below:

Playtime in the Park with one cheeky little monkey. I'm climbing the equipment in a printed chiffon baby doll dress from Nicola by Nicola Finetti, woven sandshoes from Sandgroper (purchased from Se Bliss at Coolangatta) & a gold cross-body bag from Sportsgirl. Hooray for cooler afternoons!

*

Tuckered out...

*

Testing out these edgy stiletto heeled, studded leather shooties from Wittner. Can't wait to bust them out with all manner of dresses in the cooler months!

*

Love love love it when the packaging is just as wonderful as what is contained within. These Arizona Green Teas are absolutely divine!

*

Indian Summer days mean cool cotton dresses - this one's from Rant Australia & has shoelace string straps & a drawstring neckline. I'm wearing it with my favourite black strappy heels from Wittner, a leather cross-body bag from Oxfam, a pair of knitted bangles with one wooden bead each from the Coolangatta Markets & a pair of wooden beaded bracelets with silver charms from Emmala by Emma at the Southbank Markets.

*

Missing you on your anniversary & every day, Grandad.

*

Obligatory changeroom selfie in a dainty guipure lace dress from Anthea Crawford, black suede heels with fringing detail from Novo, pattern-mixed woven tribal clutch with hard resin clasp from Nine West & funky Art Deco Girl necklace from Karen Walker.

*

Birthday Gifts for two of my favourite little people.
Have you checked out Lost My Name for amazing, personalised gifts for children? If not, click here to be amazed & delighted...

*

Meditation Class; here I come! I'm wearing a silky, flowy jumpsuit from a little pop-up store at Maleny, metallic suede mules from Taking Shape & a vintage pewter & amethyst stone cuff from Retro Metro Paddington for something just that little bit different...

*

You don't need a penny just to hang around
But if you've got a nickel won't you lay your money down?

Willy and the Poor Boys - Creedence Clearwater Revival (1969)

They say to "never work with animals or children" but my day with this gorgeous little fellow & his "puppy army" was wonderful indeed! Nothing better than loving on my best friend's kiddies as though they were my own...

*

Heading out in an Autumn floral jacquard fit-to-flare dress from Leona by Leona Edmiston, blush pink suede mules with chunky gold heels from Wittner, flesh-tone suede envelope clutch from Sportsgirl & chunky beaded necklace from Adorne, purchased from a cute little boutique called Saba's on Grange in my hometown.

*

Thoughts & prayers for everyone in Queensland & New South Wales still dealing with the devastation wrought by Cyclone Debbie.

*

Heading out to pick up some final Easter presents in a cute dress from Anthea Crawford with navy jersey bodice & floral jacquard 1950s style skirt, floral printed satin bomber jacket from Forever New, black leather brogues from Wittner & a duck-egg-blue vinyl handbag with silver hardware (also Forever New). As you can probably tell, I'm ALL ABOUT the pattern clash!

*

Brunching with these babes at one of our all-time favourites, Crema Espresso. If you're hungry, I suggest you look away before an image of the most delicious BLT I've ever tasted befalls your eyes...

*

Peace, please.
Prayers for our world.
