When you live in South East Queensland, you get used to "pretending" that the heat & humidity don't bother you, otherwise you'd probably spend all-day-every-day sitting inside with the air conditioner blasting rather than enjoying the Great Outdoors. This particular Saturday was one of those days - muggy & overcast - yet my cousin & I took her rambunctious boys to one of their favourite local playgrounds to stretch their legs a bit.

In an effort to beat the heat (spoiler alert: that didn't happen) I wore an edgy taupe textured cotton midi dress with buttons all down the front & an asymmetrical hemline from Brisbane-based label Dogstar, comfortable yet sleek black leather joggers from Puma, a black nylon & textured vinyl crossbody bag with silver hardware from Nautica (the ideal size for carrying all the essentials as well as a small bottle of water), rope & shell anklets with oversized tassels from a boutique called Sabah Lifestyle at Coolangatta & finally, the all-important sunhat to protect me from the sun... in this case a jaunty little Kooringal fedora made from mint green & white straw that I picked up from local TK Maxx store.

Scroll down to see how the rest of the day unfolded...
