Found in the archives... this amazing series of photographs chronicling the outfit I wore to attend the "Last Night of the Proms" performance around this time last year. I'm thinking of wearing this dress to a Derby Day Spring Racing Event in a couple of months - of course with some black & white accessories - which just goes to show that if you make smart choices (on the whole; everyone needs a few trendy, of-the-moment pieces every now & then) by choosing classic silhouettes & quality fabrics, they can be worn year after year & sometimes even season after season. The dress in question is a beautiful, satin-backed-crepe shift dress with mesh shoulders & floral guipure lace trim from Anthea Crawford styled up with a black & silver tapestry cropped blazer with white piping & mother-of-pearl buttons from Kamiko, a pair of black neoprene peep-toe booties from Wittner, boxy black suede handbag with oversized silver handles from French Connection, silver cuff from Wallace Bishop, sparkly beaded bangle from India & a pair of chunky shell bangles from Thousand Island Dressing in Paddington to add a funky, bohemian element.
