Capsule Collection: Part 3

Over four blog posts, I will be sharing images of my "capsule wardrobe collection" for a fantasy/dream holiday destination in the Sunshine State, ostensibly by a beach or riverbank. For those who may be unfamiliar, a "capsule wardrobe" is just a fancy name for a small collection/set number of clothing items that are able to be mixed & matched with each other to create many stylish outfits quickly & easily. The collection utilises a rather traditional "by the water" colour palette of blues & whites (augmented with pops of black & tan) & a myriad of patterns, prints & block colour. After taking aspects such as lifestyle, weather/temperature & itinerary into consideration, a multitude of fabrics & textures were included such as organic cotton, voile, textured jacquard, embroidered mesh, leather & woven straw. Scroll down to see the finished, documented looks (2 per post) in glorious photographs taken in my Aunt's beautiful Aussie garden & the further "mix & match" options provided below to create other amazing ensembles.

LOOK #5
Jumpsuit: Viktoria & Woods organic cotton
Cardigan: Collectif Vintage via That Shop knit, embroidery
Sandals: Stegmann via Styletread leather
Bag: H&M woven straw, vinyl strap

The fifth look comprises of this classic, art-deco-inspired organic cotton jumpsuit with shell buttons in the most darling shade of cornflower blue from environmentally-conscious Australian label Viktoria & Woods, styled up with a cropped white knitted cardigan with navy "mermaid pin-up girl" embroidery from Collectif Vintage via That Shop for slightly cooler weather, a pair of chunky white leather wedges from German brand Stegmann & a circular white woven straw handbag with vinyl strap from H&M to carry all the essentials.

A further styling option - to play up the 1920s nature of the jumpsuit - is to swap the modern wedges for a pair of vintage inspired, blue vegan leather deco heels from Kitten D'Amour while keeping the same circular white woven straw handbag from H&M & adding a black woven straw sunhat with floral grosgrain ribbon tie from Asos for that final flourish. All three items are pictured below:

LOOK #6
Dress: Holiday via Birdsnest cotton
Sandals: Stegmann via Styletread leather
Bag: H&M woven straw, vinyl strap
Hat: Asos woven straw, grosgrain ribbon

*

The sixth look centres around this flouncy, 1970s meets flamenco-inspired blue & white striped cotton smock dress with ruffled neckline, extended strap detailing & asymmetrical hem from a relaxed, new-to-me label called Holiday that I found at online fashion emporium Birdsnest. I've added a pair of chunky white leather wedges from German brand Stegmann for height, a circular white woven straw handbag with vinyl strap from my local H&M store to carry all the essentials & a black woven straw sunhat with grosgrain ribbon tie from Asos to ward off the Queensland sun's harmful rays.

A further styling option to make the look even most casual & bohemian is to swap the white wedges for a pair of navy suede lace-up gladiator flats from Django & Juliette, change out the white woven handbag for a navy vinyl crossbody option with pompom strap from French Connection & add a cropped, white knitted cardigan with navy "mermaid pin up" embroidery from Collectif via That Shop for a modicum of warmth when the sun begins to set. Once again, all items are pictured below:
