I'm so excited to be finally sharing all of the gorgeous pictures from a day spent traversing Southbank's cultural precinct with my darling mother after so long away due to the pandemic. After taking in the Sea Monster's exhibit at the Queensland Museum (well worth the ticket price of $15.50), we explored the latest renovations at the Queensland Art Gallery before heading to lunch at one of our favourite haunts, San Kai Japanese, followed by a delicious ice cream at Gelare for dessert & a spot of rest & relaxation under the bougainvillea arches in the parklands.

For the occasion, I wore a comfortable yet stylish organic cotton poplin midi dress with ruffled hemline in a vibrant striped pattern from celebrated Aussie designer label Gorman, a pair of monochrome vegan leather Mary Jane heels from vintage-inspired brand Kitten D'Amour, which may seem like a bizarre choice with such a casual dress but actually served to elevate the look while providing a modicum of height for my five foot frame & a black woven straw handbag from my local Target store to carry all the essentials & give off some of those bohemian vibes that I love so much. To complete the look, I added a funky molded resin "cameo" bracelet, handmade in Greece, that some dear friends gifted me for my birthday last year; the colours inherent within really "bringing the look together," providing a strong sense of cohesion & allowing me to truly "make a sartorial statement" while wearing only four carefully chosen pieces.

Whale Mall
I have loved standing here & looking up, listening to the Whale Song reverberate through this hallway since I was a little kid. All these years later, it's still a magical experience...
