All dressed up for an art appreciation event followed by a browse around some of the amazing exhibits in the Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA) in my beloved River City wearing a gorgeous black taffeta sheath dress with midi-length hemline & cold shoulder neckline from celebrated Australian designer Anthea Crawford covered with a stunning black & grey velvet burnout wrap with fringing that a dear friend gave me years ago (discovered in tiny department store Maynards in the small township of Boonah), a pair of black suede stiletto-heeled mules with shiny patent straps from Nine West to add a modicum of height & a black patent hardcase handbag with silver hardware from Olga Berg to carry all the essentials including the obligatory face mask & hand sanitizer. When it came to jewellery, I chose some special pieces - a large vintage marcasite flower brooch from Southside Antique Centre originally worn by my mother to my brother's wedding & a pair of vintage silver Indian bangles that a dear friend brought back from a trip long before Covid was even part of our collective vernacular.
