If you are an avid reader of this blog, you will probably already be aware of my varied musical tastes... but may be surprised to know that I absolutely adore listening to live jazz performances, particularly New Orleans style jazz from the 1920s, the laid back stylings of Cool jazz from the 1940s & the hypnotic rhythms of Latin jazz beats. Moreover, I absolutely adore the fusion of big band music & jazz that was popular during the art deco period & beyond, pioneered by visionaries like Glenn Miller & Count Basie. With this in mind, you can imagine my delight when I was invited to attend a recent jazz performance at a funky little hole-in-the-wall, vintage-inspired club with a dear friend! I pulled out all the stops & took inspiration from my 1930s heroes, donned a stunning cobalt blue, silver & black baroque embroidered mesh midi dress with fluted sleeves from celebrated Australian label Anthea Crawford, a darling blue velvet cape with printed cotton lining & black frog toggles that I was given as a thoughtful birthday gift last year, a pair of 1930s style black vegan leather dual buckle heels from Kitten D'Amour, a black velvet knot bag from Spanish boutique Swinging Chicks Shop on Etsy & finally, a pair of silver & blue stone cocktail rings (another lovely birthday present) from Mano.

Scroll down to see more, including pictures of the dress without the cape...
