All dressed up & ready to go off to see the most anticipated comedy musical of the year, The Book of Mormon, wearing a gorgeous black & burgundy baroque embroidered tulle midi dress with A-line silhouette from Aussie designer Anthea Crawford, cinched with a stunning sequin embellished black organza obi-style belt from Sacha Drake to create a contour line at the waist, black laser cut leather heels from Wittner, boxy black suede handbag with oversized silver circle handles from French Connection & a chunky silver hinged bangle in the shape of a wave from Precious Stones Jewellers to the complete the look.

For those who don't know, I'll give you all a run-down on this "either love it or hate it" musical, written by Trey Parker & Matt Stone (of South Park fame) in conjunction with Robert Lopez, who composed songs for Disney juggernaut Frozen & first staged in 2011 that shows ABSOLUTELY NO signs of slowing down anytime soon... in fact, tickets are already available for pre-order for the 2020 Brisbane season... I would suggest that the musical is not for the feint-hearted or the easily offended. If you are a staunch & conservative Mormon, then it would definitely be a no-go area, ditto for other ultra-conservative religions who put a lot of stock in doing missionary work in the developing world. If you don't like swearing or "gross out" (read: politically incorrect) humour, then it's probably not going to be your "cup of tea" either. It's like watching an extended episode of South Park or the Team America: World Police movie but with a LOT more heart. It's the heart that makes this musical endearing - the idea that even if non-Mormons think the whole knocking-on-people's-doors, going-on-missions, engaging in some downright bizarre religious practices/believing some downright odd things is crazy or stupid or trite, we need to respect & indeed, applaud those who are willing to put themselves on the line in the service of others. Basically, love for mankind & each other conquers all. Truthfully, I loved it but I can see where it could be divisive. If you've seen it, I would love to know your thoughts in the comment section below...
