Finally sharing all the gorgeous pictures from a morning spent celebrating our darling little Riley, my cousin's youngest son, with a racing-car-themed 3rd birthday celebration! Avid readers of this blog will already know that I love to dress to a theme wherever possible (subtly, of course, not a costume) so donned this stunning retro-style navy & white striped cotton fit-to-flare wrap dress with capped sleeves & folded collar from a label called Collectif Vintage, augmented by a bright, Lightning-McQueen-red tulle & nylon petticoat from Banned Fashion; both of which I picked up at That Shop in it's new Carindale location. Despite that fact that it is deep into Autumn already, the Queensland has yet to properly cooperate, so when it came to the choice of accessories, it had to be white - a pair of leather "cage" heeled sandals with back zippers from Wittner & a painted white cane handbag from Renee Loves Frances' funky boutique in Bulimba. Jewellery was kept simple, merely a chunky silver hinged bangle from Wallace Bishop for some daytime shine & a cute silver, vintage-style Minnie Mouse watch from Pascoe's Jewellers (ostensibly a re-release to celebrate Mickey's 90th birthday but reminiscent of a "Totally Minnie" aerobics themed one - yes, seriously - that I had as a child in the 1980s) to play on the secondary Disney theme & add a little extra whimsy.
