Feeling girly for Oaks Day which specifically features all us gorgeous gals in our Spring Racing finery. Floaty silhouettes, sumptuous fabrics, florals, lace & flowers are usually the order of the day & this ensemble seems to incorporate them all! Once again, the absolutely beautiful dress - a confection made from soft black taffeta & ice blue floral guipure lace - is from the inimitable Anthea Crawford & I've styled it up with a black elastic cinch belt with satin bow from retro-inspired That Shop, a pair of vintage-inspired black leather lace-up heels from Jo Mercer for a modicum of height, a black velvet knot bag from a Spanish boutique called Swinging Chicks Shop via Etsy to carry all the essentials, a silver hinged bangle from Oxfam that I've been faithfully wearing since my high school formal (back when Oxfam had actual bricks & mortar stores to purchase goodies from), a mesh, silver & onyx art deco inspired hinged bracelet & matching deco ring from the delightful Precious Stones Jewellers in Brisbane's Myer Centre & finally, a large faux floral & velvet headpiece (also) from Etsy that's actually quite reminiscent of one of my favourite movie heroines, Princess Leia.
