Ipswich Show (part 1)

So excited to share all of the gorgeous, colourful pictures from a day out at the Ipswich Show, one of the traditions that I truly missed during 2020's Covid 19 lockdown situation. While it's not as big or grand as the Brisbane Exhibition (EKKA) & the past year has wrought many changes to both the set up & make up of the show, the trip still brought out many of the same feelings of the joy of a walk down memory lane, remembering how exciting it was to be a kid & try your luck at the carnival games, bump each other on the dodgem cars years & years before getting a real-deal driver's license & scream as the thrill rides went up higher & higher into the blue sky before getting something to eat & heading ringside to see camel races or stunt shows. Obviously, this year we still gave the ringside a wide berth with the threat of coronavirus still hanging over our heads & took in more of the cultural aspects of the show (including the agricultural displays & the animals) rather than Sideshow Alley but it was still a fun day out & a chance for the community to come together & come back stronger after the nightmare of the last year.

Scroll down for a peek at how it all unfolded, including a look at what I wore...

Posing in front of these imaginatively painted straw bales (I believe they're supposed to be some of the characters from Charlotte's Web) that, due to current restrictions, were filling the space where the baby animal nursery would normally be set up wearing a gorgeous, vintage-inspired blue floral printed cotton fit-to-flare dress from English label Collectif (found at the delightful Love Daphne Retro online boutique), a light blue cropped knitted cardigan with tie neckline from Kitten D'Amour to ward off the slight chill in the air, a pair of green faux snakeskin vegan leather sandals & matching crossbody bag from Princess Highway as well as an indigo denim bucket hat from the same brand & finally, a handmade glass beaded "evil eye" bracelet that one of my Goddaughters made for me to complete the look.
