While the weather remains so beautiful in Queensland (sunny, cooler temperatures, lower humidity) is has been wonderful to get out & explore the River City on the weekends, when things are far less hectic. Case in point: this wonderful Saturday spent traipsing around the inner-city suburb of Woolloongabba, checking out some gorgeous stores along Logan Road including the delightful Absolutely Fabulous boutique, pointing out the bright & cheerful murals painted on a myriad of walls by local artists & browsing one of our all-time favourite antique stores, Jubilee Antiques on Trafalgar Street before heading down the newly renovated Trafalgar Lane (part of The Gabba refurbishment & gentrification) to Ku-O Japanese Restaurant for a delicious, leisurely lunch.

For the occasion, I wore a gorgeous Ghospell by Sister Jane brown & black checked polyblend midi dress with shirred bodice & oversized ruffled collar, a black mesh 3/4 sleeved cardigan from Yarra Trail that I picked up more than ten years ago at my local DFO, a pair of black suede mules with pointy-toes (great for elongating the legline when wearing longer-length dresses) from Wittner, a black leather & natural woven straw handbag from Witchery to carry all the essentials including hand sanitizer/face mask & finally, a beautiful brown leather & pearl lariat necklace (a birthday present from a dear friend), placed underneath the collar & tied in a loose knot at the front.

Washing it all down with some Saki!

Seriously, the entire experience at Ku-O Japanese - from the Covid safe protocols to the clean & tidy traditional-style booths & decor to the attentive & helpful staff to the scrumptious fare - was just wonderful. Highly recommended. Looking forward to heading back there very soon...
