Ready to beat my younger brother (by a small margin on the more difficult course) at kitschy King Tutt's Putt Putt at Surfer's Paradise, where players can attempt three different courses of varying theme & skill level - an easy Egyptian themed course, slightly more difficult Jurassic Park course & my personal favourite, the outdoor Jungle Course, which is the most challenging & also the quietest as it's outside in the sunshine & most people with children want to stay inside where the themes are more obvious, as you'll see when you continue to scroll through the pictures.

For the occasion, I decided to go pretty darn casual by my standards in a funky, art deco style wide-legged jumpsuit from Red Berry that I picked up from a boutique called The Collective on James Street, Burleigh (I can never wait long to wear my new purchases!) with classic white cotton t-shirt from Seed Heritage underneath, tan leather gladiator sandals from Wittner & a pink-painted cane circular shoulder bag with tan leather strap from the divine Renee Loves Frances at Bulimba. Jewellery was kept minimal so as not to weigh me down when I'm weilding my club - merely a single vintage curved brass bangle from The Way We Wore fashion market.

Keep scrolling for more pictures of our morning at the other, more touristy end of the coast including a peek at brunch at one of our all-time favourite destinations at Nobby's Beach...

Smashed Avocado on Toasted Artisan Sourdough with Slow Roasted Vine Tomatoes from 52 Espresso... I've waited two years for this!

Washing it all down with a refreshing Banana & Honey Smoothie!

Swimming Togs: Taking Shape lyrca, underwire
Cover Up: Rockmans mesh

Feeling like a vitnage pin up in this stunning printed lyrca one-piece with detachable straps, underwire & power mesh lining from Taking Shape with a black mesh long-line cover up from Rockmans over the top... Shame that when I actually got down to the beach, there were stingers (blue bottles) all along the shoreline & I couldn't go in for a dip!

Dress: Little Tienda linen, embroidery
Cardigan: Metalicus stretch
Sandals: Saltwater Sandals leather via Sea Wish Coolangatta
Bag: Renee Loves Frances painted cane, leather
Bangle: Vintage brass from The Way We Wore fashion markets

Making the most of our location with walks around Greenmount Hill & along Rainbow Bay wearing the gorgeous khaki linen Tierra Mini smock with hand-embroidered yolk from sustainable fashion label Little Tienda, flesh-tone stretch cardigan from Metalicus, tan leather Saltwater Sandals from Sea Wish Coolangatta, pink painted cane circular shoulder bag with tan leather strap from Renee Loves Frances & vintage brass bangle from The Way We Wore fashion markets. Truth be told, I was a little apprehensive to try the celebrated Saltwater Sandals as I'm always a little bit wary of the hype surrounding so-called "cult" items on Instagram... Happy to report that they are UNBELIEVABLE; comfortable from the very first wear, moulded to the shape of my feet almost immediately & possessed of that funky, retro Americana vibe that evokes the magic of childhood for some inexplicable reason. Maybe give them a try if you were tossing up whether to take the plunge & purchase a pair?
