By The Beach #8

Getting ready for a day spent exploring the gorgeous natural beauty of the beach behind me with my cousin & her two rambunctious munchkins wearing stuning shades of navy, white & silver. The broderie cotton Bohemian Traders mini dress with its voluminous "angel wing" sleeves & scalloped hemline was ideal for looking stylish while keeping my shoulders & upper arms covered from the harsh Queensland sunshine, particularly when mixed with a hippie style white embroidered mesh & lace kimono from Orange Sherbet in Redcliffe to ward off the slight chill in the air owing to a sneaky southerly breeze. When it came to footwear, I donned a pair of silver leather Saltwater Sandals (my new Spring/Summer favourites!) that I picked up from Sea Wish Coolangatta & for a very first wear - all day, on sand & bitumen - they once again impressed me with the way they moulded to the shape of my foot, leaving me blister & blemish free. Jewellery was predictably bohemian: a chunky silver & shell beaded bracelet from Du Monde in Paddington & a trio of shell, silver bead & twine anklets from Sabah Lifestyle in The Strand, Coolangatta to complete the look.

Braving the cold water in a gorgeous palm printed lycra one-piece swimsuit from Autograph Fashions, white cotton & lace cover up from Ava Ruby from the stunning Fiera Boutique in Bulimba, woven sunhat from Before Sunset & shell, silver bead & twine anklets from Sabah Lifestyle in The Strand, Coolangatta.

Nothing better than a morning spent walking around the old Porpoise Pool, past Froggy's beach & up the hill to Point Danger before heading down the stone steps to Duranbah beach & around to a little children's playground at the Tweed. I'm posing on the remains of concrete wall wearing the sweet "reach for the stars" dress in denim-blue star-printed cotton from Maiocchi with a grey marle cotton t-shirt from Seed Heritage underneath like a pinafore, comfortable silver leather Saltwater Sandals from Sea Wish Coolangatta, navy vinyl crossbody bag with pompom details on the strap from French Connection to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free for child-wrangling, chunky Tibetan silver bracelet from a little boutique in Maleny & a navy woven sunhat from Before Sunset. Keep scrolling to see how it all unfolded...
