Stamford Staycation 2

Ready for the second installment of my Stamford Staycation pictures? Of course you are!

Jumpsuit: Princess Highway linen
Cardigan: Metalicus stretch
Sandals: Wittner leather
Bag: Renee Loves Frances cane, leather
Tote Bag: Ghanda cotton
Bangle: Dinosaur Designs malachite resin
Ring: Dinosaur Designs malachite resin
Hat: Before Sunset woven

Overcast skies & cooler temperatures meant only one thing: that it was an ideal time to get "out & about" exploring all that the "great outdoors" had to offer at the celebrated Roma Street Parklands, a destination that I've long been meaning to tick off my list but never had the chance to see owing to inclement weather, insufficient parking or the general hectic pace of life. My mother & I headed out early (after yet another delicious continental buffet breakfast) & after a twenty minute walk through the inner city, we reached our stunning destination; an oasis of greenery in the middle of a bustling cityscape.

For the occasion, I wore a beautiful bottle-brush-printed linen jumpsuit with tie belt in a vibrant shade of magenta from Princess Highway that I picked up from the Dangerfield store in the Myer Centre, flesh-tone stretch cardigan from Aussie label Metalicus to ward off the slight chill in the morning air, comfortable tan leather gladiator sandals from Wittner with a matching cane & leather crossbody bag from Renee Loves Frances at Bulimba & a yellow tote bag from a funky, 70s bohemian-inspired store called Ghanda at Coolangatta. When it came to jewellery, I chose a malachite resin bangle with matching chunky cocktail ring from Dinosaur Designs, picking up on the shades of green inherent in the jumpsuit's native flora pattern.

A change of pace with a darling English-style morning tea at Keri Craig Emporium; a citrus tart for me & Victoria sponge with fresh strawberries & cream for my mother...

Washing it all down with a refreshing traditional sarsaparilla on ice... served with a sprig of mint, of course!

Dress: Sacha Drake cotton
Scarf: Coolangatta Markets embroidered cotton
Sandals: Wittner leather
Bag: Forever New vinyl with silver hardware
Bracelet: Tibetan silver (from a boutique in Maleny)

Hanging out by the pool before sampling some hotel delicacies & taking a late afternoon walk in the Botanic Gardens wearing a summery black & white gingham cotton dress with cold shoulder detailing, drop wait & tiered hemline from Sacha Drake, ombre floral cotton scarf from a little stall at the Coolangatta Markets to ward off the slight chill to the breeze, comfortable yet stylish white leather gladiator sandals from Wittner (ideal for exploration) & a white vinyl handbag with silver hardware from Forever New to carry all the essentials... including the amazing "Jackie O" inspired sunglasses that I'll be wearing in some of the later pictures. Jewellery was minimal yet statement-making in the form of my trusty Tibetan silver bracelet that I picked up from a funky little boutique in Maleny.

Taking the path less traveled?!

Almost seven metres (yes, really!) of skirt circumference make this dress ideal for twirling!

Dress: Alannah Hill jacquard
Cardigan: Zara woven
Heels: Paul Green patent leather (via Peter Sheppard)
Rings: Redcliffe Markets brass

Channeling my inner "Twiggy" on the way to dinner wearing an amazing 60s inspired, bumble bee printed jacquard mini shift dress from celebrated Aussie label Alannah Hill, striped 70s style woven cardigan from Zara in a complementary colour palette, navy patent leather loafers from Paul Green that I picked up from the Peter Sheppard sales outlet in the Wintergarden (seriously the most comfortable footwear EVER) & a pair of handmade brass rings from a little market stall at Redcliffe to complete the look.

Top: Gorman pleated silk
Skirt: Gorman pleated silk
Sandals: Wittner leather
Bag: Forever New vinyl with silver hardware
Bracelet: Tibetan silver (from a boutique in Maleny)

Another day, another funky ensemble... this time a fresh blue & white checked silk pleated midi skirt & swing top from Gorman (admittedly a little different from this self-confessed dressaholic but something I'm really getting used to), white leather gladiator sandals from Wittner with matching white vinyl crossbody bag with silver hardware from Forever New to carry all my essentials while keeping my hands free for... well, twirling... & shopping up a storm, if I'm honest... & my trusty Tibetan silver bracelet from Maleny to complete the lineup.

Couldn't resist picking up a few cheeky little Christmas items from one of my all-time favourite department stores, David Jones... it's pretty much a tradition now!

Jumpsuit: Elk the Label silk (from Sea Wish Coolangatta)
Cardigan: Taking Shape mesh
Heels: Wittner leather, elastic straps
Bag: French Connection suede with silver hardware
Bangle: Zsiska marbled resin

Taking a walk through the City Botanical Gardens at sunset before heading to The Brasserie on the River for dinner, an a la carte affair mid-week. I'm rocking a funky monochrome hand-printed silk jumpsuit with tie belt from Elk the Label, found at the divine Sea Wish Coolangatta (seriously if I could buy one of absolutely everything in-store, I'd be one happy camper), black mesh longline cardigan from Taking Shape, black leather pointy-toed heels with elastic straps from Wittner with matching boxy black suede handbag with oversized silver handles from French Connection & finally, a clear & white marbled resin bangle from Zsiska to finish.
