British television shows are absolutely my jam. My thing. There are so many that I love, including Midsomer Murders, Endeavour, The Great British Sewing Bee, Call the Midwife, Agatha Raisin, Dad's Army, The Great British Bake Off, Escape to the Country, Dalziel & Pascoe, All Creatures Great & Small, Pointless, Gok's Fashion Fix & Jonathan Creek to name but a few. An all-time favourite is Grand Designs, hosted by the inimitable Kevin McCloud for over twenty years & featuring unusual & often elaborate architectural homebuilding projects, so the opportunity for an opportunity for an audience with the presenter - The World According to Kevin McCloud - at Brisbane's Queensland Performing Arts Complex (QPAC) was definitely not to be missed!

For the occasion, I wore a sumptuous navy, black & silver floral jacquard paneled shift dress from ethical Australian designer Anthea Crawford, a pair of black suede pointy-toed stiletto heeled mules with patent straps from Nine West (word to the wise: size WAY up as these babies run VERY small) to provide height & carried a matching black patent handbag with marbled panels & silver hardware from Vera May via Simona Ricci shoe store at Mt Ommaney. With regards to jewellery, I wore two very special pieces in honour of a dear friend who recently passed away & who had given them to me as thoughtful & beautiful birthday gifts a few years ago - a vintage 1930s silver hinged bangle covered in molded fleur-de-lis replete with delicate safety chain & a chunky Victorian silver bracelet with oversized filigree heart locket & teeny tiny key from Kellie's Antiques - adding the perfect finishing touches to the classic look.
