Well, the day has arrived! I'm so excited to be finally able to share pictures of a recent trip OUTSIDE to the gorgeous Colleges Crossing for a picnic brunch by the water, thermos of piping hot tea & still-warm bakery croissant in hand... all the while being careful & socially-distanced, of course. I can honestly scarcely believe it & truthfully, even looking at the pictures & remembering the air on my face in the wide-open space, the smell of the river & the sounds of the ducks & pelicans splashing about fills me with hope for a brighter future ahead when this Covid 19 nightmare is over & we can once again share these special moments with our loved ones.

The fashion blogger in me relished the chance to be able to wear one of my latest acquisitions for the occasion - a darling, vintage-inspired cotton fit-to-flare midi dress covered in pictures of classic children's books from American label Retrolicious, stocked by the wonderful Love Daphne Retro - that I styled up with a vibrant mustard knit cropped cardigan that ended right at the waistline for that pleasing retro silhouette from Review, a pair of tan leather pointy-toed mules from Wittner that have been worn-in over the last few years to absolute perfection & a matching tan leather crossbody bag with chrome hardware from Elk the Label to carry all of the essentials including a mask, hand sanitizer & gloves, should the need arise. To complete the look & add a little whimsy (as well as provide a modicum of sun protection in the Queensland sun) I donned a quaint little natural straw boater sunhat with blush grosgrain ribbon band from Forever New to truly evoke that "Anne of Green Gables" feeling that I've associated with picnicking since I was very young.

Scroll down to see how it all unfolded...

Take me to the river...

In Formation

It didn't take long for it to become too warm for the cardigan...
