Much like my last post, this Annie-Oakley-meets-Marie-Antoinette-at-Petit-Trianon outfit was part of a Vintage Style Challenge from the delightful ladies at That Shop to help followers on Instagram stay fashionable & motivated during the Covid 19 lockdown. What started off as a nod to "rockabilly" steadily veered into different territory when the black & white checked cotton fit-to-flare dress with its wide waistband & deep v neckline & midi-length hemline was cinched in with a shiny black patent belt (both from HellBunny via That Shop) & a voluminous black polyblend petticoat from Banned Retro added underneath for fullness & movement... Not very "Country & Western," I'll admit, but I absolutely loved it, even adding to the now-hybrid theme of the ensemble with a pair of black vegan leather heels with t-bar detailing & little bows from Kitten D'Amour & a natural woven straw boater-style sunhat with black grosgrain ribbon tie from Forever New to "amp" it up...
