Nerima Gardens

I'm so excited to finally be sharing all of the beautiful photographs from a rather bleak & blustery Autumn morning spent exploring the beautiful Nerima Gardens in Ipswich's Queens Park... before a cheeky trip to the kiosk for some hot, beer battered chips & a strawberry milkshake, of course... Tucked away behind the historical caretaker's cottages, a stone's throw from the noise of the children's playground & bustle of the animal sanctuary yet seemingly a world away lies the gracious, traditional Japanese-style landscape - designed in consultation with the "sister city" of Nerima in Tokyo - featuring a series of winding, scenic pathways, traditional tea house & ornamental lake that is truly a place of peace & contemplation.

For the occasion, I'm wearing a gorgeous, vintage 1940s inspired floral cotton fit-to-flare midi dress in muted shades of cream, purple, pink & green from Aussie label Retrospec'd, a chunky mauve knitted cardigan with oversized faux shell buttons from Princess Highway, a pair of comfortable yet stylish black leather ankle boots with silver zipper detailing from Renee Loves Frances at Bulimba (honestly, slow fashion at its absolute best) & finally, a black vegan leather crossbody bag with silver hardware from Urban Originals to hold all the essentials while keeping my hands free.

Scroll down to see how the rest of the morning unfolded...
