If you happen to read this blog a lot, you will probably already know about my penchant for three things in particular: dresses of all shapes & styles, the colour blue in all of its varied hues & tones & big band music, especially that of the late, great Glenn Miller. This festive season, I was fortunate enough to combine all three of my great loves on one day, attending an outstanding big band performance featuring popular festive tunes of the last 100 years. For the occasion, I donned a divine black floral stretch lace sheath dress with china blue underlay, embroidered with blue roses at various intervals & with grosgrain ribbon straps from Anthea Crawford, styled with a beautiful chiffon capelet (tucked into the straps of the dress for a retro feel) from the same, black laser cut leather heels from Wittner & a boxy indigo denim & black vinyl handbag with silver hardware from Nine West to "dress it all down" (as they say) for the daytime in the way only denim can. When it came to jewellery, less was definitely more: a black resin wave bangle with matching rosette ring from Dinosaur Designs that seem to work with ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING I've been wearing lately...
