Avid readers of this blog will probably already know that my favourite fashion & design decades have always been the 1920s & the 1960s... but that doesn't meant that I'm not partial to a 1950s fit-to-flare silhouette from time to time, particularly if the print is as beautiful as this gorgeous vibrant-floral-on-black-background from retro-inspired English label The Pretty Dress Company via That Shop's amazing "pop up" store at Carindale. I've kept the rest of the look simple to make the dress the main feature, donning a pair of black leather lace-up heels from Jo Mercer to provide enough to height to counterbalance the full skirt, a cylindrical black vinyl handbag with chrome hardware from French Connection to carry all my essentials & finally, a chunky red resin heart brooch that a dear friend made & thoughtfully gifted to me to provide a "pop" of primary colour.
