So excited that I can finally share with you all the pictures from a recent day trip to the Workshops Rail Museum with my cousin & her two rambunctious munchkins who have recently become voracious railbuffs... in addition to their obsession with dinosaurs, of course. I will admit that at first, the children were probably more enthusiastic than this particular adult at the prospects of all things trains, trains & more trains, but considering my (late) uncle Robert was a "nipper" at the workshops when he was a young man & my (late) grandfather Ivan was a train driver & I saw the train that he had once given us a ride in as children, it was an interesting & emotional experience to say the least... & one that they would have LOVED to be involved in, no doubt.

I'm posing in front of the celebrated number 444 wearing a gorgeous "seafloral" neoprene midi dress from Anthea Crawford, burgundy lurex cropped cardigan with matching scarf from "cool girl" Aussie label Metalicus, black leather Chuck Taylor high top joggers from Converse (softest & most comfortable shoes I own, hands down!) & finally, a nylon & textured vinyl crossbody bag with silver hardware from Nautica to carry all the essentials while keeping my hands free for child-wrangling. I always find that it's best to wear something dark coloured with a modicum of stretch when going anywhere with children... particularly if that place had once been part of the dusty, dirty railway workshops... so there's a little tip for anyone who might be entertaining ideas about taking a little day trip of their own after seeing these photographs.

Scroll down to see how it all unfolded...
