Avid readers of this blog will already know about my latest obsession with garden centres or nurseries, particularly as I'm working on my own little backyard oasis replete with cottage flowers, fruit & vegetables in raised beds, a wrought iron swing & a selection of lawn ornaments. This trip to the Greenway Garden Centre in Oxley, however, was actually more about enjoying a family brunch in the sunshine of the Verdant Cafe & Restaurant (nothing better than a cooked breakfast on a cold morning) but I still managed to find a secluded spot to pose for some outfit photographs wearing some gorgeous new-season pieces as well as old favourites. The floral print of this neoprene number (with peplum detailing) from Anthea Crawford seemed fitting for the occasion, particularly when mixed with a cropped black knitted cardigan covered in faux pearls from "girly" Aussie label Review, shiny black patent & matte ankle boots with buttons (very "Anne of Green Gables" if you ask me) from Wittner, 40 denier nylon tights from Razzamatazz & my much loved boxy suede handbag with oversized silver handles from French Connection. Due to the rather OTT nature of the floral & pearl combination, jewellery was kept to a minimum - a single chunky vintage Victorian silver bracelet with heart locket & teeny tiny key from a wonderful little store called Kellie's Antiques in the Brisbane Arcade.

Yes, folks, this is WINTER in Queensland!
