While the bridal party were taking professional photographs down by the river at the historic, repurposed Brisbane Powerhouse, I took the opportunity for a quick rest in my hotel room before changing into something a little more evening-appropriate. This absolutely stunning navy blue floral guipure lace below-the-knee dress with cold shoulder detailing & voluminous, sweeping chiffon sleeves from Anthea Crawford was an ideal choice for the bohemian venue, particularly when mixed with a pair of navy & mushroom ombre patent leather stiletto court shoes (or "pumps" as the Americans say) from Carvela by Kurt Geiger that I discovered at my local David Jones department store & a heavily beaded, Art Deco inspired pewter clutch from "girly" Aussie label Alannah Hill to carry all of the essentials... well, owing to the size of the envelope clutch, perhaps only a comb & tube of deep red lipstick from Revlon... When it came to jewellery, I kept things simple with a funky pair of oversized ceramic cocktail rings (in the shape of a heart & circle, respectively) from a Melbourne designer, StudioLeanne, that I discovered on the online treasure trove that is Etsy. Leanne was an absolute superstar when it came to matching the handmade, kiln fired & painted rings not only to each other but to the dress & working with my overall concept. As with the outfit from earlier in the day, the fringed, lurex wrap that a dear friend gifted me was not able to be used owing to the unexpectedly balmy Queensland weather.

Newlyweds

Dramatic dining with chandeliers, decadent wallpaper, gold leaf embellishment as far as the eye could see & comfortable, recycled timber furniture, Libertine was definitely the place to enjoy an evening of imaginative French-Vietnamese fusion dishes (served banquet style) washed down with high-quality, handcrafted cocktails & feted international tipples... mine was a Connemara Single Malt Irish Whiskey that certainly had a nice kick to it!

Filling up on a myriad of delicious delicacies...

There's always room for dessert...
