Art Deco influences seem to dominate my fashion posts of late, but hey, if something suits you, you should probably go with it, right? This drop-waisted tunic is a breathable, textured cotton that's cool in the heat & best of all, doesn't require ironing! Perfect for Christmas morning when you're rushing around getting everything ready for visitors OR rushing to get the kids out the door, hit the beach or fire up the barbie with your nearest & dearest... Just remember that with something so short & sheer, you'll need a slip underneath. This TS option is perfect, doesn't cling & wicks away sweat. Bonus

Accessories are kept simple with a pair of mint patent pointy-toed pumps & a tiny matching shoulder bag with tassel while jewellery makes a statement: a silver & pearl choker with matching bangle as well as a gold & silver 1920s-style hinged bangle, mixing both gold & silver for a cohesive look. The biggest statement of them all, however, is the floral headpiece - white roses on a twisted pearl band. Something just that little bit "out of the box" for that one day a year when you spend most of your time OPENING boxes...!

Heels: Emerson @ Big W patent

Beaded Bracelet: Adorne

Work Christmas parties are a notorious minefield of possible wardrobe (& behaviour) malfunctions, but this textured pique dress with peplum shift could never be considered a faux pas! Wear it to the office with your usual daytime accessories before changing into these black patent platforms, picking up this funky clip-top handbag & securing this stretchy, embellished belt around your waist.

All that remains is to load up your wrists with bangles & bracelets - in this case, two brass bangles & a chunky beaded bracelet - then tousle your hair (as I have below) & you're good to go...

On the eighth day of Christmas
My true love sent to me:
Eight maids-a-milking
Seven swans-a-swimming
Six geese-a-laying
Five gold rings
Four calling birds
Three French hens
Two turtledoves
And a partridge in a pear tree

They may not be eight maids-a-milking, but these eight little ballerinas/fairies add a touch of magic & whimsy to our tree, particularly the one just below... It's new this year, a present from some dear friends...
